Raiders prepare for Hilton Head Prep

After a disappointing 2007 season, the Raiders kickoff the football season Friday against Hilton Head Prep.

"We have to win this game. If we don't Coach is going to kill us," junior tackle Ethan Bair said.

The Raiders lost to Hilton Head 31 - 14 last year.

"From the films I've seen they are big and strong. Hopefully we will be quicker and smarter," Coach Stanley Gruber said.

Weather may play a role in tonight's game. Showers from tropical storm Fay may hinder the players.

The team's practices have been rigorous. "We're working hard. We want to perform better this year," junior running back Trevor Davis said.

Students and faculty are optimistic about Friday's game. "I think the team will be good this year," sophomore Taylor Hall said.

Fans are encouraged to support the team with their attendance. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m.
